👉 Fast food giant #McDonald’s began accepting #Bitcoin payments in El Salvador 🇸🇻 on Tuesday, post when the the nation became the first to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender.

👉 McDonald’s has integrated #OpenNode lightning payments into its services, to #buyfood from a McDonald’s in El Salvador 🇸🇻 using the lightning network by scanning a paper receipt with a QR code from their phone.

👉 #JulieLandrum, Head of Growth for @OpenNode, stated that they are incredibly excited to work with McDonald’s to help adopt the country’s #BitcoinLaw as an operational success.

👉 President @NayibBukele confirmed that as of Tuesday, the country held 550 #BTC in its reserves. El Salvador’s Bitcoin Law officially came into effect on Tuesday, proving to be a classic “buy the rumor, sell the fact” event for markets.
