In the context of the recent United Nations climate change statement, our team was moved by the urgency in combating climate change and helping save the rainforests around the world. Play to earn and play to make a difference. This is what we want to achieve with our latest Gold Fever initiative. So how will it work exactly?
Climate change is one of the most significant threats to the long-term survival of humanity on this planet. In the last years, we have witnessed multiple extreme weather incidents, including intense heat waves and terrible floods in rather unexpected places. And these incidents, although severe, are only a foreshadowing of what’s to come if we do not take action.
Having an impact in the real world is as essential as revolutionizing the gaming industry. We want our community of players to make an impact not only in the virtual realm but also in the real world, so we designed a strategy to achieve that goal.
How to save the rainforest through Gold Fever
Inspired by the magic of rainforests, our development team is designing the Gold Fever map to closely resemble the live thriving environment present in these kinds of ecosystems. Players can explore the map and find that many of the plants and trees simulate the flora present in the rainforests.
In doing so, we hope to educate players about all of the flora and life that is slowly dying away. Hopefully, it will also create an emotional response from players, thus sensitizing them to the issue and leading them to help save the rainforest.
We are also actively engaged in protecting the rainforest by creating jobs that don’t place too much pressure on the environment. Gold Fever will allow gamers to fill roles within the game and thus generate income with almost zero carbon emissions. These roles, or in-game professions, will be vital in building a sustainable future.
An important shift in blockchain gaming
Play-to-earn games, like Gold Fever, offer players the chance to monetize their gaming hobbies. It is no longer necessary to become a professional gamer or streamer to make living playing video games.
