Weekly Developer Stream
Chay Longdin fills in for Jon McFarlane as Stream Host for today and he is joined by Game Designer Steven Dillon, Gameplay Engineer Will, and guest streamer xSHUMBAx. They have no full plan for the stream, only to see where the wind takes them, but with them is the infamous Wheel of Fortune.
Congratulations to xShumbax for recently being partnered with Sea of Thieves!
Steven Dillon’s team worked on Fort of the Damned.
Could it be possible for Pirate Legends to play the special shanty anywhere?
It could be possible! As it stands you could drag it from the tavern to anywhere else, much akin to the way to summon the Megalodon in the Hungering Deep event.
What about a Voyage that puts a bounty onto another player’s ship. It can only be applied to a sloop if you are on a sloop, the same for brigantine and galleon. When one of the ships sink, both crews get a map to an island with X marks the spots and it allows the ship that sunk a chance at retribution.
Hmm yeah that would be a good idea, they get a lot of suggestions and feedback about a bounty feature. It may be a possibility for the future.
Is it true the Shrouded Ghost only spawns once every 24 hours per server?
What’s a Shrouded Ghost? It’s a myth.
Is the new Fort update permanent?
Yes it is! As are the Ferryman cosmetics in the shops. For future reference, an item will state clearly if it is time-limited.
On the design of Reaper’s Chests…
They didn’t always want players to have to look at their map to see where it was, so they added the beacon. Then you’d look at the map to figure out how far away it was, as the beams of light can be a bit deceptive on how close they are. This is due to the fact that the beams of light needed to be seen from anywhere on the Seas.
