Season 9’s “Community Weekend” has begun, which entails a wide range of bonuses and promotions to take advantage of! Here’s a list of everything you won’t want to miss

Community Emissary Grade

The global community can contribute to a “Community Emissary Grade” which is a multiplier on gold, reputation, Renown and Allegiance for all players. This time, the Grade is based on global time spent watching Twitch streams of Sea of Thieves, so put your favorite streamer on in the background! The multiplier can get as high as 2.5x, so it’s a good time to earn a pretty penny

Twitch Drops

Watching Twitch doesn’t just contribute to the global multiplier- there’s also Twitch Drops rewards to unlock! The Eastern Winds Ruby Sturdy Boots, Gilded Phoenix Cutlass, Eastern Winds Ruby Bejewelled Gloves and Gilded Phoenix Eye of Reach will all become available over the weekend and earnable simply by watching any Twitch Streamer in the Sea of Thieves category for one hour per reward. Head to SeaofThieves.com to learn more about Twitch Drops (including linking your accounts to make sure you’re getting your prizes!)

As a bonus, if Sea of Thieves climbs into the top ten ranks of games being streamed on Twitch, an added drop will unlock: Obsidian Captain’s Rugs, along with the Obsidian Ship’s Crest that will be awarded at a later date.

Pop-Up Plunder

A brand new feature makes its way into this Community Day: Pop-Up Plunder! As the community reaches each Emissary Grade milestone, a new “Pop-Up Plunder” will, well, pop up! What does this mean? Players in game will get a notification that new loot has arrived up for grabs, but the map to that loot can only be found on one of Sea of Thieves’ various social media channels. If you find this map you might be able to go dig that treasure up in the game- but every server only has one of these treasures on it, and it will only be available to dig up for an hour, so better be quick on the search!

Once somebody digs up the treasure, the hunt is only just beginning, as it now will appear as a map marker on every other ship’s map, and other crews may aim to steal your spoils. The treasures you may find include packed Collector’s Chests, Chests of Legends, suites of Siren Gems and even Chests of Fortune. The plunder for reaching Community Grade 5 will be the mysterious “Box of Wondrous Secrets” (which mind, can only be handed in to Captain Grace Morrow on Morrow’s Peak Outpost), and more Pop-Up Plunder will continue to arrive periodically even after Grade 5 is reached!

FREE Stuff!

Any players that log in to the game during Community Weekend will receive the Season 9 Community Weekend flag and the “Touch Grass” emote, just for playing the game!

As always during Community events, sharing stories with the #BeMorePirate is a way to highlight pirates of particular renown- if you think yourself or a friend is a special Sea of Thieves community member, an MVP (Most Valuable Pirate), try spreading the word with #BeMorePirate, and a few worthy pirates will be rewarded with the Hat of Unfeasibly Glorious Fame, a very rare item indeed.

You can also use #SeaofThievesCommunityWeekend just to share stories, screenshots, and clips throughout the event- perhaps while posing in front of the “Photo Wall” you can see temporarily on every in game outpost!

A Paradise of Merchandise

Over on Rare’s official merchandise store, available for a limited time are the Flag and T-Shirt for this season’s Community Weekend! On top of that, using code SOTCOMMUNITYWEEKEND at checkout will give a 30% discount off most Sea of Thieves related merch on the store!
