Gonzo Sonneteer: Submission Guidelines

The Gonzo Sonneteer strives to curate bizarre and interesting content about life, the human condition, the decline of civilization, and more. We are seeking Gonzo writers who can think further outside the box and beyond. We must be able to push boundaries even at the risk of offense. We must be able to fight against content curated only to appease an algorithm. We must break out.

We are interested in unique poems, lists, ideas, paintings, and perspectives on the world and individuals' imaginations.

Not only do we want you to be weird, profane, and willing to explore your interests in off-beat detail, but we also encourage you to shatter the horizon of discomfort.

Writer Criteria:

1. Beginner to advanced writers with the ability to create quality, engaging content that encourages others to be strange and GONZO
2. All submissions must adhere to Medium’s rules. Don’t let that scare you; we want you as close to that border as possible.
3. Though we want submissions to be Avant-Garde in nature, we still want to ensure the quality of our work by incorporating a level of thoughtfulness into each submission.

Please Note:

We are currently accepting all new writers as we try to grow the publication's reach. If, for whatever reason, you are not accepted as a writer, it is not to disparage you as a writer or creative; it just doesn't likely fit in with Gonzo Sonneteer's vision.

To write for us, send your Medium handle and a link for your draft submission to alovesupreme404@gmail.com, and one of our editors will get back to you within 72 hours

Editorial Process:

1. Onboarding writers should submit a DRAFT first
2. Use any combination of our tags but no less than one (Gonzo, Weirdos, The Fringe, Poetry, and Punk
3. We will try to get to your submission within 72 hours, and we might make minor suggestions, but ultimately, it's your work and your vision.
4. We ask that you have at least 1 photo, and author-created photos are highly preferred.
5. There is no minimum word count. Hell, if you want to submit a three word poem with no vowels, why not?
6. We try to stagger the release of our articles to give everyone some time to shine.
7. If you also have music or books and need somebody to write in detail about your band book, feel free to post it; we will be happy to do it.
