The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Swift is perhaps the most anticipated car of the year. To reinforce that widely held belief, dealerships around the country have recently revealed that waiting periods for the car are already at 6–8 weeks, despite the fact the car is yet to be officially launched and pricing details yet to be confirmed.

The market reaction is only natural considering the tremendous success enjoyed by the previous iterations of the Swift and the positive impressions that the new model has left on leading automotive media outlets around the country.

The 2018 Swift features a revamped exterior design with a modern feel and is based on the same Heartect platform as the Baleno and the Ignis. The interiors have also also been updated to give the car a sporty vibe akin to the Ignis. New features include LED headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, 7" touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay support, automatic climate control and a Start/Stop button. In terms of safety features, the new Swift comes with ABS and dual airbags as standard across all variants.

The engine lineup remains unchanged, however, with the same 1.2 Petrol and 1.3 Diesel engines being offered on the 2018 Swift. A hybrid version is also thought to be in the works. 6 variants are on offer for each engine option, 4 manual and 2 AMT.

The 2018 Swift has already started reaching dealerships around the country ahead of the expected launch date of February 9 at the Auto Expo. To save your spot in line and avoid waiting too much longer, book the 2018 Swift now through CarPal!
