With SUVs being all the rage among Indian car buyers in recent years, it’s no wonder that the Hyundai Creta is one of the most popular cars in the country. The stylish design, spacious interiors and commendable driving dynamics give the Creta an edge over rivals in the space such as the EcoSport or the Duster.

One of Hyundai’s greatest advantages is their ability to take products from their vast international portfolio and adapt them for different markets. Hyundai did just that with the Chinese ix25 which was was tweaked for Indian conditions and renamed the Creta.

What works:

  1. Flexible powertrain options. Diesel + Automatic available
  2. Spacious cabin with sufficient head and legroom
  3. Hyundai’s no nonsense service network
  4. Premium quality interiors
  5. Comfortable ride and driving dynamics

What doesn’t work:

  1. Priced significantly higher than rivals
  2. No AWD capability
  3. Diesel is given more preference with a larger variant lineup
  4. Features expected for the price point such as auto-headlamps, adjustable driver headrests and a sunroof are missing
  5. Fuel economy not too impressive
