The Redi-Go was launched 3 years ago with an 800cc engine. Datsun is now offering the 1L engine option in 2 variants — T(O) and S, priced at Rs. 3.57 and Rs. 3.72 (ex-showroom, pan India) respectively. The company is expected to deliver the cars to the owners immediately after the launch.

On the inside, the cabin retains the same design as the 0.8L variant with an all-black look which gives a premium appeal, red accents on the seats, improved upholstery and the horn & aircon vents gets chrome finish. Other features include music system with a CD player, AUX-In, USB and power steering. There will be no touchscreen infotainment system on this new Red-Go.

On the outside, it retains the same halogen headlamps and bumper mounted LED DRLs. Safety features on offer include 3-point seat belts, an immobilizer, child safety door locks and a driver-side airbag on the Sport variant alone.

The car measures 3429 mm long, 1560 mm wide, 1541 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2348 mm with 185 mm of ground clearance. The modified suspension is stiffer on the side and improves the ride quality.

This new 1L engine is a 3-cylindered unit that produces 67 hp and 91 Nm of torque and will be paired to a 5-speed MT. With the help of Intelligent Spark Automated Technology (iSAT), fuel efficiency has been increased to 22.5 kmpl (ARAI certified). The AMT variant is expected to be introduced at a later stage.

The Redi-Go 1L variant competes against Renault Kwid 1L and Maruti Suzuki Alto K10.
