2018 Ford Aspire launched in India

The new Ford Aspire has been launched in India at a starting price of INR 5.55 lacs. This compact sedan shares its design features with Ford’s very own cross-hatch, the Freestyle. It is equipped with more features and new engines. It is also cheaper than the outgoing version of Aspire by Rs. 17000. Variant line-up for the 2018 Aspire is as follows — Ambiente, Trend, Trend+, Titanium, Titanium+.

The base variant, Ambiente, comes with fabric seats with adjustable head rests, tilt steering, air-conditioning and front power windows.

Features like audio system with 4 speakers, radio USB & Bluetooth, remote key less entry, boot lamp, rear centre armrest, passenger vanity mirror, gearshift indicator, tachometer and body colored ORVMs with turn indicators are offered in the Trend variant. The Trend+ variant gets front fog lamps, rear defogger, automatic climate control and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

The Titanium trim gets features like hill start assist, ESP, traction control, chrome grille and push button start along with the other features. A 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, Ford Sync3, dual USB ports, emergency assistance service and dual front, side and curtain airbags are offered in the Titanium+ variant.

Ford offers Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and front row seat belt reminders as standard Safety feature across all variants.

Engine options include — a 1.2 L, 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 95 HP with a fuel efficiency of 20.40 kmpl, a 1.5 L, 3-cylinder petrol engine, making 121 HP with a fuel economy of 16.30 kmpl and a 1.5 L, 4-cylinder Diesel engine making 100 HP with a fuel economy of 26.10 kmpl. Transmission option include a 5-speed MT for the 1.2 L petrol & 1.5 L Diesel, and a 6-speed torque converter for the 1.5 L petrol.

The new Aspire comes in 7 colors — White Gold, Moondust Silver, Deep Impact Blue, Absolute Black, Ruby Red, Smoke Grey and Oxford White.

The 2018 Aspire competes with Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Volkswagen Ameo, Honda Amaze and Hyundai Xcent.
