Hyundai launches the 2nd-gen Santro in India
Hyundai has launched the all new 2nd-gen Santro in India at a starting price of INR 3.89 lacs. The hatchback is available in variants — D-Lite, Era, Magna, Sports and Asta. The new Santro comes with a factory fitted CNG option as well. It is built on the K1 platform and has more features in it. 7 colour choices are available — Stardust, Imperial Beige, Marina Blue, Fiery Red, Polar White, Typhoon Silver and Diana Green.
Exterior features include swept-back headlamps, fog lamps, a large cascading grille with chrome frame & black inserts around it, ORVMs with turn signals, dual-tone rear bumper with reflectors, roof spoiler, rear windshield wiper and wrap around tail lights.
Hyundai offers dual-tone Beige & Black interior with Champagne Gold interior colour Garnish in the new Santro. Buyers of the Diana Green colour get same colour inserts for the interior.
Hyundai offers features like 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay & Mirrorlink connectivity, voice recognition, navigation, elephant inspired centre console, multi-function steering wheel, twin-pod instrument cluster, power windows, rear defogger, first-in-segment rear AC vents, day & night IRVM, central locking, high mount stop lamp, eco-coating technology for AC and wheel covers.
Standard safety features on offer include Driver airbag, Immobilizer, ABS with EBD and Child safety door locks. Other safety features include passenger airbag (top-end variant), seatbelt pre-tensioners with load limiters for the front seats, keyless entry, speed-sensing door lock, impact-sensing door unlock, fire extinguisher (for CNG only) and rear parking sensors with camera.
Engine options for the new Santro are — Petrol and CNG. The petrol engine is a 1.1-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine, making 68 BHP and 99 Nm of torque. CNG engine produces 58 BHP and 84 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed Smart Auto AMT. The AMT is offered only in the petrol versions.
