Hyundai India has updated the Verna line up with two new additions — a new 1.4 L Diesel engine and a Petrol SX+ AT and Diesel SX(O) AT variants.

The new diesel engine finds its place in the E and EX trims alongside the petrol 1.4 L engine. The Diesel engine is the same 1.4 L, 4 cylinder diesel engine that is available in the Elite i20 hatchback. This engine produces 89 HP and 220 Nm of torque and comes with a 6 speed manual transmission.

The other new additions is a Petrol SX+ AT variant that comes with features like key less entry & go, smart key with engine start/stop button, wireless charging and Smart Trunk & a Diesel SX(O) AT variant that gets 6 airbags ventilated seats with leather upholstery, telescopic steering, wireless charging pad and a Smart Trunk.

There are no changes mechanically in both the petrol and diesel variants — the new Petrol variant is powered by a 1.6 L, 4 cylinder engine that produces 121 HP and 151 Nm of torque while the new Diesel variant gets powered by a 1.6 L, 4 cylinder diesel engine produces 126 HP and 260 Nm of torque. Both the engines come paired with a 6 speed automatic transmission.

Pricing for the new 1.4 L diesel E and Ex variants are INR 9.29 and INR 9.99 lacs respectively. The new Petrol SX+ AT is priced at INR 11.52 lacs and the Diesel SX(O) AT is priced INR 13.99 lacs.
