Isuzu MU-X launched, priced at INR 23.99 lakh

Isuzu Mu-X has been launched in India, replacing the MU-7. This SUV will be manufactured in Isuzu’s manufacturing plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh which will also be a global manufacturing hub for the Japanese carmaker. It is offered in two variants — 4x2 AT & 4x4 AT.

The design cues, components and the platform that supports this SUV are borrowed from D-Max and V-Cross. Features offered include 6-way power adjustable driver seat, a roof mounted 10-inch DVD entertainment monitor, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, and automatic climate control.

The MU-X is powered by a 3L, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 174 BHP @ 3600 rpm and 380 Nm of torque @ 1800–2800 rpm paired with a 5-speed automatic. It offers a “shift on the fly” 4x4 drive setup along with terrain command control. The company claims a fuel economy of 13.8 kmpl.

Safety kit offered include traction control system, brake assist, electronic brake force distribution, anti-lock braking system, electronic stability control, rear parking camera, dual front airbags, front seatbelt pre-tensioners with load limiters and hill start assist. automatic climate control.
