Though the official launch date for the MU-X has not been revealed, the company is rumoured to be launching the SUV in India on May 11, 2017. This SUV is expected to be assembled locally at the company’s production facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh.

We also expect it to be the replacement for the MU-7. The dashboard layout and the side profile of the MU-X are similar to that of the Chevy Trialblazer. Also, it shares the same platform on which it was built. The Design elements of the SUV include projector headlamps & LED DRLs, an aggressive front bumper and a broad, double-slat chrome grille.

The Indian bound MU-X is a 7-seater and will be offered with 4x4 MT & AT powertrain setups first, and later the 4x2 grades are expected to be introduced. The SUV will be powered by a 3.0L, 4-cylinder diesel engine, but there are no cues on the power and torque output.

The MU-X will be competing against the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeaver and the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
