The Maruti Ciaz will get many cosmetic changes and equipment upgrades from the outgoing model. The teasers have shown that the facelift will get a sharper front grille and face, new alloy wheels, projector LED headlamps and tweaked tail lamps with LED lighting. The interior is nearly the same as the old model, with a new wood trim in a lighter shade, height-adjusting rear headrests, and a new instrument panel from the Baleno.

The biggest change in the new Ciaz is the new 1.5 L Petrol engine replacing the outgoing 1.4 L engine. This 1.5 L petrol engine will be coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission delivering 104 HP and 138 Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki is also expected to offer the SHVS mild-hybrid system in the petrol engine model for the first time thereby proving high fuel efficiency among petrol sedans. It is also expected to come with Cruise Control. The new Ciaz is likely to retain the current Diesel engine.

The new Ciaz will come in 4 variants as before in Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha variants. According to reports, Maruti Suzuki has already produced over 7000 units of the new Ciaz ready to be dispatched to NEXA dealerships. Maruti Suzuki is also planning on keeping the prices competitive to gain advantage over the rivals such as Honda City and the Hyundai Verna.
