Maruti Suzuki S-Cross 2017 launched
Maruti Suzuki has launched the facelift of the S-Cross in India at a starting price of INR 8.49 lacs (ex-showroom Delhi).
The updated S-Cross measures 4,300 mm in length, 1,785 mm in width, 1,595 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. Boot capacity is at 353L litres and the car has a 48 litre fuel tank. The fuel economy now stands at 23.65 kmpl.
The exterior gets sculpted hood and a new front grille with vertical slats flanked by new LED headlights with LED DRLs on its sides. The bumper is finished in black and silver dual tones. The alloy wheels get a contrasting two tone finish with wider tyres (215/60 R16). The tail lamps now come with LEDs.
On the interior, the S-Cross gets new seat fabrics including leather upholstery on the top end trim, soft touch dashboard materials and chrome accent trims. The central console gets a piano black finish and an updated infotainment system with Android Auto and Apply Carplay. Other features include multi-functional steering wheel, cruise control, parking camera, keyless entry, automatic climate control, reclining rear seat, automatic headlights with auto leveling, auto dimming rear view mirror and rain-sensing wipers. Safety features like ABS with EBD, airbags, ISOFIX child safety anchorage, seat belt pre-tensioners with force limiters are standard across all the variants.
The 2017 S-Cross is offered with only one engine option the 1.3L DDiS 200 which produces 89 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque @ 1,750 rpm paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine is SHVS enabled and therefore gets idle start/stop, power assist and brake energy regeneration as standard across all the variants. The facelift S-Cross misses out on the 1.6L diesel engine which was available on the pre facelift model.
The 2017 S-Cross comes in 4 variants — Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha and available in the following colors — NEXA Blue (new colour), Pearl Arctic White, Caffeine Brown, Premium Silver and Granite Grey.
