Money Control reports suggest that the Tata Racemo project is up for sale in order to raise funds for Tata Motors.

The Racemo was unveiled during the Geneva Motor Show in March 2017 and the Indian Auto Expo in February 2018 with 3 variants. Tata had hoped to bring the car to life in the Indian market under a new brand TaMo but it was indefinitely shelved in July 2017 due to the high costs of production and time involved. Final decisio of axing has finally been taken by Tata Motors.

The Tamo Racemo comes with a 1.2 L turbocharged Revotron engine producing 190 HP of power and 210 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed AMT transmission accompanied by paddle shifters with a claimed 0–100 km time of under 6 seconds. The Racemo was based on the MOFlex Multi-Material Sandwich (MMS) platform.

With the funds from the sale of Racemo, Tata Motors is keen on focusing in Personal and Commercial segments.
