Tata Tiago launched starting at Rs. 3.20 Lakhs

Tata Motors has launched the much awaited Tiago (Erstwhile Zica) in India.

The Tiago is new generation of cars from Tata Motors under the #MadeofGreat campaign. The Tiago is based on the all new IMPACT exterior design language and is positioned as a mid-range car in the already packed hatchback segment.

The Tiago comes with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant is powered by an all-new 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron engine that produces 85 PS and 114 Nm, while the diesel-powered engine packs a 1.05-litre three-cylinder Revotorq engine that develops 70 PS and 140 Nm. Transmission option on both is a 5-speed manual gearbox, and is equipped with Multi-Drive mode. Tata also indicated that an AT variant will be given a shot depending on the response of the Tiago and feedback from customers.

The petrol version is expected to deliver a fuel economy of 23.84 kmpl while the diesel is expected to deliver 27.28 kmpl which is among the top in its segment.

The Tiago comes in 5 variants each in both petrol and diesel option — XB, XE, XM, XT & XZ.

The exterior styling features new three-dimensional ‘T’ Logo is placed in a semi vertical position on the signature hexagon grill, three dimensional headlamps with smoked lens and sporty black bezel, sharp tail lamps, LED turn indicators embedded on side mirrors, 14-inch twin five-spoke alloy wheels, rear wiper and an integrated roof spoiler.

The Tiago comes with the best in class high end features on the inside. The interior is finished in a dual tone black and beige color combination with black fabric seat upholstery, sporty instrument cluster pods, body-colored trim around the side AC vents and piano black trim on the center console on the top variant. Tiago features Tata’s ConnectNext Infotainment system that has been exclusively developed by HARMAN, with an 8-speaker audio system on the XZ variant, and can play files through USB and Aux-In, apart from radio and CD functions. It also shows Turn-by-Turn navigation when paired with a phone through Bluetooth. The interior is intelligently designed to provide 22 utility spaces without compromising on space. The boot can hold up to 242 Litres of luggage.

On the safety front, ABS with EBD, Corner Stability Control and Dual airbags and driver’s seat height adjustment are standard in the XZ grade, while Dual Airbags are optional in the XE, XM and XT at an additional price of Rs. 18000.

Prices for the Tiago starts at Rs. 3.20 Lakhs for the XB Petrol trim and goes up to 4.75 Lakhs for the XZ Petrol while the Diesel XB starts at 3.94 Lakhs and goes up to 5.54 Lakhs, all ex-showroom, Delhi. Tiago will come in six exciting colour options — Striker Blue, Berry Red, Sunburst Orange, Espresso Brown, Pearlescent White and Platinum Silver.
