The 2018 Toyota Yaris was finally launched in India yesterday after a wait that seemed like forever. The new sedan from Toyota seems to have all the essential elements to take on the evergreen Honda City and the dynamic Hyundai Verna; sharp looks, segment-first features and the quality one would expect from a Toyota-badged car.

Initially, the Yaris will be available only in a petrol version. Powering the car is a 108hp, 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-step CVT.

The sedan is offered in 5 variants, each with manual and CVT options. Here, we explain the major features and pricing of each variant:

What will really determine the success of the Yaris is whether customers believe the design and long list of new features is enough to justify a price not too far away from the tried and tested City and Verna. One thing that is for sure though is that Toyota have come a long way from the Etios and the issues plaguing it.
