Vintage Car Rally at Chennai : Gallery
The vintage car display and rally held in Chennai on the 4th of August was not just another auto expo. But it was a fresh dose of perspective on technology. The theme of the event was ‘Celebrating 100 years of Morris’ with dozens of Morris’ from across the state lining up.
Sitting midst the epitome of technology pampering every muscle of our bodies, it is an overwhelming feeling for one, to get a glimpse of the backbones and roots of what we use today in cars.
These cars were made at a time when engineers had the freedom to imagine, create and develop. There were no standards, no limitations, just a pure amalgamation of art, engineering and power.
After having a quick word with most of the owners of the vintage vehicles, we understood that what they worried about the most were their tyres and wheels as they are not available easily and in most cases, they need to be imported from other countries.
The range of cars on display included various variants of the Morris Minor, a bunch of Mercedes Benz’, variants of Austins, Dodge, Ford Mustang and even a Jaguar!
