Volvo V40 T4 Petrol Variant Launched

Volvo Auto India launched the petrol engine variant of the V40 Cross Country earlier this week. This new variant adds to the existing ‘D3’ diesel powered model and will now take on the likes of the advantaged Mercedes A class and BMW 1 series that have petrol engines in their portfolio.

Also, Volvo has priced the car a notch higher at INR 27 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom Mumbai) while the BMW 1 series and Mercedes A class retail at INR 22.1 Lakhs and INR 26.2 Lakhs.

This V40 variant will feature a 1.6L 4 cylinder ‘T4’ petrol engine that boasts of Gasoline Direct Injection technology to churn out of a generous power of 180 HP with 240 Nm of Torque. V40 makes use of it’s regular 6 speed transmission for the T4 variant as well. The performance figures make this car the segment topper when compared to the A class and 1 series.

Volvo also offers it’s ‘City Safety’ technology along with a whole bunch of safety features like ABS, EBD, 7 air bags, traction control and front + rear sensors.
