Figure 1: WPI Athletics hompage (athletics.wpi.edu)

As a student-athlete at WPI, I like to be up to date with not only my teams’ statistics but also the standings of other teams. The best way, I’ve found to do this, is to check the WPI Athletics website. I think that this is a good example of design because it is simple to use and anything I may be looking for is easy to find and easy to follow to get to subcategories.

This component of the website makes it easy for a user to access a calendar that shows event on a given day for those sports that are in season at a given time, to see what place in the conference a specific team is in.

Another reason this is an example of good design is because this shows exactly what someone looking to keep up with WPI Athletics is looking to see. They would be looking to see recent news, standing, or stories regarding the various athletic teams. It’s very user friendly and gives a user the information they’re looking for in an organized and easy to follow manner.
