Let me introduce you to Blcksp_ce Studio.
Born in 2019, Blcksp_ce had a goal from day one — promote good design and fill this void that mediocrity has created. A branding and strategy focused studio in Mumbai, realised that people are spending double the amount of what they should be because they chose ‘quantity’ over ‘quality’. Not their fault, the economy is such, or shall I say the mindset.
As a designer and founder of Blcksp_ce Studio, it has been a challenge to convince clients why they should be paying a certain amount for a particular logo design or a poster design. This has happened purely because now a days every other person who has mastered in photoshop is now a self proclaimed designer. But do they really know design? Do they know the principles of design or rule so that they can go break them?
I may come off a bit arrogant, but this is disappointment. I remember one such client who I happened to meet at a cafe (we are a studioless studio) to discuss his brand. He told me that he was unsatisfied with what he paid for to another designer and had to spend a bomb to get that fixed. Not only did I feel bad for him but explained him the process and how and why should he have gone with someone who charged almost the same amount as what he ended up paying. Today, we made a lovely, indulgence filled brand out of that.
Our philosophy
Always treat your brand as your baby. Like you would not want your child to grow with a bad image or influence, you wouldn’t and shouldn’t want the same for your brand. You feed the baby with good quality products, then why not do the same for your brand.
We strongly believe that process of branding, strategy, advertising and marketing is nothing but and investment, not an expense.
In this pandemic, we saw a lot of brands pulling the plug from marketing and advertising and make do with cheaper resources. In return, they don’t succeed as much as they thought they would. Instead, speak to the respective agencies and figure out a new strategy to attract consumers to stay afloat.
For us, Good Design is not only about branding or visual communication, but also good content that gets generated everyday. Our goal is to bring like minds together and find a solution to pull out mediocrity.
