I came to NY with my parents and brothers in the late 1960s, a time of racial tension but also cultural expansion here. As one of two white kids in a black children’s choir, I learned English singing gospel & spirituals. After studying international relations in college and working various jobs, I felt the call to make singing my profession, specifically the music of the Weimar era and Germany’s Jewish composers. My career has been in helping heal the wounds of Germany’s past through song.
