🤲🏻 👦🏻 王子麵、統一麵的回憶 Memories of the Instant Snack Noodles
第一次跟非家人分享食物的經驗，來自小學時，分享同學的王子麵。當時，我們家不准小孩去買這種「不健康零食」。
The first time I shared my experience with a non-family, I shared my classmate’s Instant Snack Noodles from elementary school. At that time, our family was not allowed to buy such “unhealthy snacks”.
第一次伸手分享到的王子麵，來自一個女生，她不是功課很好、幫老師當幹部、記名字的那種女生，也不是長得可愛、討人喜歡的女生。我連她名字都記不起來，只記得她有一個非常小巧的、朝天的鼻子。
My first bite of Instant Snack Noodles came from a girl.
She is not a girl that the teacher likes. I can’t even remember her name, just remember that she has a very small, upturned nose.
有一個星期，放學後，她要前排的幾個男生都伸出手來，當我們乖乖伸出手來，她就在每個男生手裡倒了一點王子麵，所有男生都很高興地連舔帶吸地把手裡的細碎麵條吃乾淨。
One week later, after school, she asked several boys in the front row to reach out. When we reached out, she poured a little Instant Snack Noodles in the hands of every boy. All the boys have very enjoyed the snack from the girl.
她很高興我們這些不懂事的傻瓜圍繞著她，連發了一個禮拜的王子麵，直到第二個星期一時，我們看不到她，才知道她轉學了。
She was very happy that we the foolish boys surrounded her and gave us the snack for a whole week. Until the second Monday, we couldn’t see her, only to know that she had transferred.
後來，很多統一麵回憶，跟體罰有關，因為老師用藤條打手心的時代，也是同學張開手掌彼此分享統一麵的時代。
Later, many Instant Snack Noodles memories were related to corporal punishment, because the era when teachers used the rattan to beat students’ hands was also an era in which students open their hands to share Instant Snack Noodles.
有對被父母拋棄、祖母領養的雙胞胎男生，總是打架、逃學、鬧事，功課從來不寫，有個老師，拼命用藤條打這對雙胞胎手心，打到後來，這對兄弟的手指關節部分常被打破皮。
There were twin boys who have been abandoned by their parents and adopted by their grandmothers. They always fight, skip school, make trouble, never write homework.
A teacher desperately used the rattan to beat the twins’ hands. And their hand often got hurts.
有次老師生病請半天假，班上大部份的男生都開始搗蛋，第二天老師到校氣極，把所有鬧事者都打了手心，我也挨了幾下，但沒有這對兄弟挨得藤條多，他們兩個那天手指關節都被打破了皮。
Once ill, the teacher half a day off, most of the boys in the class began to make trouble, the teacher to the school the next day in a rage, all the rioters have hit the palm, and I suffered a few times, but did not suffer as the twin brothers , and both of them got beaten badly and broken their skins on both fingers that day.
那天放學後，家裡開鐵工廠的小開同學，特地去買了兩包統一麵（後改名叫統一脆麵）揉碎成一大包，「慰勞」所有被老師打的男同學。
After school, that day, a rich boy bought two packs of Uni Instant Snack Noodles (later renamed the Uni crispy noodles) and smashed them into a large bag, “comforting” all the male students who were beaten by the teacher.
雙胞胎兄弟手受了傷，還是伸出手來分麵吃，小開同學把麵裡附贈的調味鹽全加進麵裡，雙胞胎兄弟每接一點麵，吃的時候就沾到一點鹽掉到手指關節的傷口裡，一面叫痛、一面把鹽往褲子上抹、一面又伸手來要麵吃。
The twin brothers’ hands were injured, but they still reached out to get the Instant Snack Noodles. The rich boy put all salt & pepper in the Instant Snack Noodles.
That hurts the twin brothers a lot. But they still struggled to get as much as the Instant Snack Noodles they could.
As their palm injured by the teacher, they had to eat a bite then wiped the salt on their trousers to reducing the pain.
到現在我還記得他們那天的動作。
I still remember their actions that day.
很多女同學不願跟他們兩個做朋友，覺得他們只打架，不讀書，小學畢業典禮的時候，這對兄弟的祖母來參加畢業典禮，這對兄弟一左一右攙扶著年紀非常大的老太太，露出靦腆的笑容。
Many female students are unwilling to be friends with them. They feel that they will only fight and not study.
When they graduated from elementary school, the grandmothers of the twin brother attend their graduation ceremony. The twin brothers hold the old lady carefully and smiled.
典禮結束，祖母給兩兄弟各買一包統一麵作為禮物，我們才知道原來他們除了跟同學分點統一麵吃外，在家從沒吃過什麼零食，都在幫祖母縫鞋底、串手工藝品貼補家用。
At the end of the ceremony, the grandmother bought a package of Uni Instant Snack Noodles for each of the two brothers as gifts.
Only then did we know that they had never eaten any snacks at home, and they were helping the grandmother to sew the soles and string handicrafts to support the family.
這是我對速食脆麵的回憶，停在每包三元台幣的時空。
This is my memory of instant snack noodles, stopping at the time of three NT dollars per pack.
