Red, yellow, blue?
Not really true
Red, blue, green?
Halfway there, keen
Cyan, magenta, yellow
That’s the rest ‘o
The true color story

Two kinds of primary colors
One adds to the current color
The other subtracts
Each kind has a complementary
Secondary set as well
All so you can understand
Color’s not what you early learned

Six in total, not the measly three
Some you know
Some you’ve never seen
The basic rule’s supposed to be
You can make any color
Mixing the basic three
But that doesn’t work
As we shall soon see

If you are able to make
The color teal
By mixing red, yellow, green
(And nothing else)
You know something
None of the rest of us do
