How to Set Bulk Splits: User Guide
How to set the same splits for multiple collaborators.
Have the same collaborators that are entitled to the same publishing and master splits across every song? Our bulk split feature allows you to easily apply the same split percentages across multiple songs during the upload process. This will save you lots of time (no copy and pasting fatigue here!).
Upload a New Sales Report and Follow the Instructions on the Set Song Splits Screen
The bulk split feature is nested inside our Upload Flow. So you will only be able to bulk set splits while adding a a new file. You can watch our Quickstart Video for more help on uploading and using the tool.
Login and upload a new sales report. Then follow the rest of the steps to add a title and date to your file, name and match your columns, and configure your albums. If you need help, reference our Getting Started Guide. When you get to the song splits step, you’ll be able to set bulk splits across multiple users.
Select Songs that Have the Same Splits
Once you arrive to the Song Splits page, instead of clicking “Edit Split” on the song row to add individual splits, select the checkbox on the left of the song name to select the song itself. Then select the rest of the checkboxes next to songs that require the same splits.
Once you select the checkbox, you will see a new button at the top of the chart that says: Set Bulk Splits.
Once all songs are selected that need the same splits, click “Set Bulk Splits.”
Now you can add collaborators that live across these multiple songs.
Add each collaborator’s name, email, and their percentage splits for both master and publishing. Collaborators added from previous uploads will appear in the dropdown. Emails are required for each collaborator (but they aren’t contacted unless you decide to send them money through Good Splits later).
You must account for 100% between all composers in a song. If necessary, you can assign percentages to an unknown placeholder entity (like a publishing company).
Click “Save Bulk Splits” to close the modal and you’ll be dropped back into the song list from the upload.
Save and Calculate
You’ll still be able to edit individual songs on the Song Split page if needed before proceeding to the confirmation page. Don’t forget to save each row as you go!
Once you add a splits for a song, they will save in the system(unless you edit them) for all future uploads with the same song title.
The final step in the flow will calculate the sales report from your upload and you’ll be able to see payments in your dashboard. You can edit splits on the Catalog tab but those changes will only be reflected in future uploads.
