We learn and grow every single day of our lives. If writing is a strong passion of yours, you would do anything to improve it. Writing on Medium is a great way to make connections with other writers and build up your writing skills.

We learn so much by just taking the time to practice. Medium allows you to have complete control of what you put out there.

I know many of you reading this want to succeed on Medium. I have narrowed down my research to explain the 3 ways to succeed on the medium.

I am also taking note as this is my first few months being on here. I also just want to further my writing career and improve.

Let’s get started!

1. Write high-quality content

Your headline is your readers’ first impression, and you should make it eye-catching for them. Not clickbait of course, but put attention to it. Keep your readers engaged with the information inside your article. Add in your own experiences, tips, advice, or research.

Break up your text in different subheadings/topics. This allows the reader to continue to be interested in what you are writing and not lose focus. Lastly, at the end of your articles, you include a call to action at the end. This helps promote your other articles or newsletters. You can also encourage readers to highlight, clap, or comment on your article.

2. Engage with other writers and readers

If you want to be part of the Medium’s awesome community, you will need to support others. Treat others as you would want to be treated. That is how I was taught growing up. Supporting others as you want to be supported helps you in the long run. It is easy to just take 5 to 10 minutes out of your day to highlight, clap, or comment on an awesome article you read.

Sometimes you can even get inspiration from other writers when reading. The good thing about the media is that people post poems, short stories, long stories, fiction, non-fiction, and many other types of work. You may come across something you like and just take time to show love to them.

3. Submit to Publications

Many writers enjoy self-publishing and some like publications. It’s all about preference. Submitting to publications allows for more exposure. It can increase your readership, especially if you are just starting. You would first need to become a writer for publications. Some have strict guidelines you have to follow. Some have pretty easy ones. Just take your time to read and understand what they want. Getting more exposure helps you in the long run, even if it’s just one person.

Conclusion

Success on Medium is achievable as long you are dedicated and focused. Figure out what you love to write about, think about your future, and show love to others. Be patient with yourself, you may not see results right away, but when you do, it is all worth it.

Good luck with your journey! I believe in you.
