What did the little version of you love to do?

Do you still do these things?

After some self-reflection, I realized I often do what used to bring joy to the little me.

  • I create alternate realities in my head.
  • I love to write and read.
  • I paint coloring books (on an app now, but still).
  • I love to sing and dance (zero talent, but I have fun).

Maybe something got lost along the way (time to start baking again!), but mini Marcela is still alive within me somehow.

So if your answer to my questions were no, keep reading. Maybe it’s a sign your past version wants to reconnect with you.

Adulting: Not What We Signed Up For

It’s interesting how we wanted to become adults so badly, but now we don’t have time or energy to enjoy life.

We get so caught up in problems and distractions that we forget we once were carefree kids just wanting to play.

We just have one life in this body. Why settle for a dull and gloomy existence?

What’s the point of life if you drown yourself in misery every day?

Society thinks you’ve made it if you’re pulling in six figures or surrounded by stuff. But let’s be real, none of this matters if you’re not happy on your own.

No one or nothing can make you happy. This is your responsibility. You need to cultivate this happiness inside you, independent of external things.

If you can’t find joy in yourself, you won’t find joy with anyone or anything else.

Making Joy a Priority

Wouldn’t your younger self be disappointed to see you living a miserable life?

I bet you don’t want this, right?

What if you could bring back the activities you used to love? How fun would that be?

You can draw, play a game, or listen to a song you loved. The most important thing is to get in touch with this version of you who just wanted to enjoy life day by day.

No matter what you do, don’t forget who you once were.

Don’t leave your bliss in the second plan.

Have fun!

What did you enjoy doing when you were younger? Tell me in the comments.
