Purrfectly Mismatched
One of the highlights of the otherwise isolating pandemic was accompanying my dear friend, Caitlin, and her roommate Matt to adopt Miss Lily, a four-year-old Persian from the animal shelter in Boston.
Lily, a sweet but shy feline approaches affection with caution. She clearly loves her people but the idea of constant attention isn’t her cup of tea. This could probably be because of her past where she was kept in a cage, repeatedly bred, and had little or no human contact, missing out on being petted, hugged, kissed, or loved.
Nevertheless, Caitlin is an amazing cat mom always mindful of Lily’s boundaries.
Everything was moving along smoothly until Caitlin met a handsome stranger. This happened at a different shelter near the urgent care she was visiting. I’d guess it was love at first sight with Cow, aka Cowboy, the cutest little tuxedo.
Cowboy is a 2-year-old street cat taken in by the shelter. He is basically toothless because they had to remove his bad teeth, but that didn’t stop Caitlin from bringing him home.
