My #1 Strength That Helps Me Grow in Life
It’s been my anchor during the times when my stress cup runneth over big time
I don’t garden and am not really into yoga. While those are some great stress relief activities for some, they’re not for me. I self-soothe by going for walks and writing.
Sometimes those aren’t enough to tackle stress and anxiety. That’s when I break out the big guns which I will explain shortly.
Recently, at my mental health support group meeting, we were asked to list our strengths. Everyone had one prepared except me.
I was feeling so low after being battered blue by a family issue that cropped up after Christmas that those who know me have been concerned as I have completely withdrawn to lick my wounds.
There have been times in the recent past when I have felt like crumbling from the pressures of being a single mom, an ex-husband who gives me a hard time, and facing my mom’s disapproval. She thinks being divorced and living independently is sacrilegious and reminds me of that, rather vociferously, each time I call India.
