As children, make believe was second nature. It’s what we did to have fun. We would play pretend with siblings and friends. We turned ordinary objects into whatever our young minds could dream up. This was common and acceptable.

Make Believe Was No Longer Acceptable

Over time, as we grew up, playing make believe was no longer accepted. We were taught to prepare for the “real world” and to take on a more serious nature in order to prepare us for becoming adults. Along the way to preparing for this real world, that vivid creativity and imagination that once flourished with our dreams and visions began to become filled with others hopes, dreams and aspirations. We began to develop life experiences that went against the creative side of us because that’s what the world trained us to do.

Our Mind and It’s Creative Nature Is Valuable

While life skills are important, our mind and it’s creative nature is equally important as well. Through life we pick up experiences that begin to suffocate the creative expression of our mind if we’re not careful. When we become aware of how potent the mind is, it becomes important to weed out thoughts that do not serve our highest good regularly.

We Create What We Believe

Since this isn’t something most of us were taught, it means that we have to do regular mental cleansing to remove the old way of thinking and operating. This can come in the form of healing work, affirmations, subconscious reprogramming, hypnosis or whatever form of mind work you prefer.

When You Know Better You Do Better — Maya Angelou

When we are fortunate enough to learn how powerful it is, we’ve come across life changing awareness. No longer are we bound to the limitations of what the world dictates we can and we can’t have. We now have the power within our very being to create life as we desire. It takes practice. But, I can assure you if you don’t give up you will align your mind and thoughts in a way that works for you, not against you.

Neville Goddard calls the imagination, God. Abraham Hicks refers to the subconscious and imagination as infinite intelligence, source energy. No matter what you call it, the most important thing for you to do is use it. Use your imagination for your good, the good of those around you and the good of the world. Those of us on this side of living are powerful creators. Believe it and see it.
