I stumbled across a post by Wayne Shi the other day that resonated with me. He was on a subway when he noticed a nervous traveler with a suitcase, glancing back and forth between his phone and the map. Wayne stepped in to help, asking the traveler where he was headed.
It turned out there was a mix-up. Two similarly named stations in Shanghai, China, had caused confusion. Wayne not only figured out the issue but also got off the train with the traveler to guide him to the right platform. His kindness ensured the traveler wouldn’t miss his train.
The story made me pause and reflect. I was reminded of a small act of kindness I did recently. Nothing earth-shattering, but meaningful nonetheless.
It happened at my local gym. I was on the treadmill, focused on my workout when I overheard an elderly gentleman a few machines down asking the person next to him for help with the television on his treadmill. He wanted to watch a show while he exercised, but the person beside him admitted…
