What No Bread?
I’m trying to cut down on calories.
GF Judy and I have discovered this great breakfast/lunch place in a small town in Northern Vermont close to the Canadian border. The understated, comfortable restaurant with the ultra friendly staff makes dining there a delight.
We’ve been to the place more than once and plan on returning whenever possible.
The wait staff takes great pride in informing all who choose to eat breakfast or lunch there everything served is home grown, homemade, organic and local. They even decaffeinate their own coffee ( no solvents; the Swiss Water Method)
Keeping in the spirit of back to the earth, whole grain wholesomeness, the breakfast menu for the day is hand written on a chalkboard listed without prices. At 12:00 the board is erased and a simple luncheon menu is chalked on by one of the staff (the one who has the best hand writing presumably).
You find out what things cost when you get the check. The tab is usually very reasonable if our past visits are prologue.
The Bread
When you enter the place you get that glorious smell of baking bread. The aroma is enough to sharpen the appetite of the most determined of calorie watchers.
