“If you want a life of action, fall in love.” — Ovid (from Love and War)

Burt Bacharach and Hal David wrote the song, “What the World Needs Now Is Love,” in the early ’60s under the backdrop of the Vietnam War. The success of the song surprised them, but it is just as relevant today as it was sixty years ago.

Cold wars, hot wars, A.I. wars. People can’t tell a deep fake from a true friend, so they assume the worst. It takes more than a fourth-generation large language model to fool a dog.

“Lord, we don’t need another reason to hate. We have plenty of those already.” -Dolly Parton

Dogs are lovers, not haters. We come with forgiveness in our hearts. We come with faith. We come with hope and a tennis ball.

Let’s look at six ways we dogs show our love:

1. Licking

Some say we do it to de-stress. Others say we just want a little more salt in our diets or love the taste of Olive Oil hand cream. Okay, busted on the hand cream. But most of the time, we lick you to show our love.

2. Leaning
