When did you last do this?

It’s all about the little joys in life.

The flight of birds in the sky
Returning to their nests at night
When had you last seen this?
Doesn’t it remind you of a simpler time?

The moonlight shining down on you
Gives light to everyone in the dark times too
When have you last admired it?
Doesn’t it make you feel peace at times a bit too?

The dew on the grass in monsoon
Feeling the brushing of the moist grass against your bare foot
When did you last feel tickled?
Don’t you wanna do this sometime soon?

The blue sky filled with endless clouds
Changing their shape into different forms
When did you last perform this norm?
Doesn’t it remind you of your forgotten past sometimes?

The wind blowing in all its might
Thus brushing your cheek saying goodbye
When did you last feel its presence?
Doesn’t it make you miss those times?

The sun rising everyday
Gives us new hope to live to see another day
These bright places it graces
Did you care to embrace it anytime?

The stars twinkling all night
Reminds you of people you knew in your lifetime
Their shining never shades the light
Just how memories never leave our mind
Tell me when did you last reminisce the sky?
Doesn’t it remind you of a simpler time?

First drop of rain falling on the ground
Pitter patter goes the sound
Nothing brings us more joy
Than dancing in the rain little girls and boys
When did you last drag the mud through the door?
Doesn’t it make you want to live a little more?

P.S I penned this poem during the challenging times of Covid, when we were urged to stay within the safety of our homes for over a year. Writing it served as a pause, allowing me to reflect and cherish the simple joys surrounding us, reminding me of the abundance life holds. Thank you for taking the time to read it!
