Preface

The summer break can be a frazzling time for many parents. Part of them want their kids to have the best summer, but part of them is grumpy with adjusted work schedules and disrupting routines.

I could not understand the similar thing Mom went through when I was a kid. She then was a pharmacist who worked, not far away from home, but not that close either. Dad worked far away from home and only came home during the weekends, so she singlehandedly took care of us.

It was more manageable when the kids were in school. We could just stay at school until she picked us up and dropped us at her workplace. Hour 7 struck, and we would go…
