As we grow up, nostalgia becomes more of a common thing, so there is no surprise many of us misunderstand it as a call for the past of a better and or easier time. Well, at least that’s how it seemed to be.

But what about truly happy times? Just feeling happy doesn’t necessarily make you appreciate them.

Nostalgia, defined as a “sentimental longing for the past”, happens when you look at the moments that remind you how some of the best moments are created even in the toughest time, for the past is often a mix of joy and pain, of comfort and struggle.

By seeing the past for what it really is, with both the good and the bad, we come to appreciate the people who helped us through tough times, and most importantly, we can appreciate and learn from our own strength in overcoming them.

With that being that, what is one fond memory of yours that defines nostalgia? What did it teach you about yourself and those around you?
