Professor Hussain Askari of George Washington University researched how Islamic countries are Islamic. A search for countries that follow the rules of state and society in Islam reveals that those who follow Islamic rules in their daily lives are not Muslim countries.

The study found that the most Islam-compliant country is New Zealand, followed by Luxembourg. Other countries are Ireland, Iceland, Finland, Denmark and Canada.

Meanwhile, Malaysia ranks 38th, Bahrain 64th, and Saudi Arabia 131st, according to the Global Economy Journal.

Research has shown that Muslims are very careful about prayer, fasting, sunnah, Holy Quran, hijab, beard, and Islamic code of dress, but they do not follow Islamic rules in political, social, and professional life.

They listen to religious sermons and advice more than anyone else in the world, but no Muslim country has become the best country in the world.

A Japanese said in Western countries, I see non-Muslims following the principles of Islam, and in Eastern countries, I see Islam, but there are no Muslims.

Islam is not just prayer and fasting; it is a way of life and a matter of connection and fellowship with others.

The Holy Prophet (SAW) said the real proletariat and the empty-handed are those who will be present with fasting, prayer, Hajj, and charity, but will go to hell empty-handed due to corruption and wealth grabbing. Not giving rights to others and oppressing people.

Islam has two parts: the public declaration of faith called ‘Iman’ and the subject of faith called ‘Ihsan’, which is achieved by following correct social norms. If neither is followed, Islam remains incomplete.

Obeying religious prohibitions is a personal responsibility of man and it is a matter between Allah and His viceregency. But abiding by social norms is a matter between one person and another.

If Muslims do not follow Islamic principles in their lives, Muslim society will deteriorate, and our future will be dishonored.

G.B. Shaw once said,

“Islam is the best religion and Muslims are the worst followers”.

May Allah (SWT) bless all Muslims with a positive mind and positive heart. May their morales, daily dealings, actions, and thoughts align with the principles of Islam and the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

All religions of the world promote unity among and the welfare of their followers. It is the people who follow or break them. May all of us follow the right path to succeed in this world and the world hereafter.
