- 🚀 The GoodDollar protocol has only been on Celo for two months, and we’re already one of the fastest-growing projects, with 80,000 active users and counting.

Highlights and Wins
🏆 So much is happening in the GoodDollar ecosystem! Here’s what we’re celebrating this month.
1. GoodDollar at Collaborative Finance
In May, GoodDollar’s Technical Lead Hadar Rottenberg attended the inaugural Collaborative Finance event hosted by the Crypto Commons Association.
Around 60 financial activists, monetary theorists, and fintech disruptors from all over the world gathered at the Commons Hub in Austria for the 6-day event. Aligning with GoodDollar’s mission of global financial inclusion, the event provided a great opportunity for leaders and innovators to come together, share their knowledge, and explore new avenues of economic activism.
2. GoodWallet and GoodDapp soon to support WalletConnect v2
In staying true to our intention of building GoodDollar to be a multichain protocol, GoodWallet and GoodDapp will soon support WalletConnect v2. WalletConnect v2 is both chain-agnostic and provides multi-chain support, allowing GoodWallet users the ability to connect to a wide variety of dapps and web3 experiences without having to export their wallet.
For community members who don’t use GoodWallet, the WalletConnect v2 upgrade on GoodDapp will simplify the process for GoodDollar community members to connect and engage with the GoodDollar protocol. This includes activities such as claiming G$ UBI, staking, and interacting with other dapps on the Celo and Fuse ecosystem.
The latest update also addresses any known issues and lays the foundation for exciting new features and enhancements.
3. 50,000 DAI added to the Reserve
The GoodReserve gained 50,000 worth of cDAI (Compound DAI). This means more G$ UBI for everyone! In case you missed it, you can claim your daily G$ UBI using GoodWallet on both Celo and Fuse UBI distribution contracts.

4. GoodDollar on the dOrg Hot Seat Podcast
GoodDollar Executive Director and Founder Anna Stone and Technical Lead Hadar Rottenberg demonstrate GoodDollar on the dOrg Hot Seat podcast. During the episode, Anna and Hadar talk about rising global inequality, universal basic income, and GoodDollar’s developments and tokenomics mechanism. Questions from the audience touched on the evolving crypto regulatory landscape and reserve funding incentives.
5. Income and Wealth Creation in Web3 report — GoodDollar featured!
GoodDollar has been featured in the Income and Wealth Creation in Web3 report by Crypto Research and Design Lab (CRADL) — a research organization using evidence-based investigation to report on organizations applying blockchain to create equitable and inclusive societal impact.
The report focuses on the use of crypto infrastructure in generating income for individuals and communities. Specifically, GoodDollar has been highlighted in the Community Development category for our innovative system that supports sustainable communal wealth generation and addresses global inequality.

6. GoodDollar on Portuguese BlockTalks Podcast
GoodDollar’s Product Manager, Pat Pedrosa, had an interview with Mauricio Magaldi on the Brazillian crypto podcast, BlockTalks. During the podcast, she discussed the mission of GoodDollar and its efforts to reduce socioeconomic inequality through the implementation of universal basic income.
7. GoodDollar Featured on DeCential Media
Anna Stone, the Executive Director and Founder of GoodDollar discusses GoodDollar’s initiatives of improving DeFi accessibility, distributing UBI as a public good, enabling financial education through real-life practices, and creating a scalable and sustainable UBI ecosystem.

GoodData Ecosystem Update
🔢 Here are the numbers from the GoodData Ecosystem for May 2023:
- May Unique Claimers: 80,000 (50% growth in unique claimers)
- May Transactions: 111,700 total transactions, with 54,900 transactions on Celo & 56,800 transactions on Fuse
- To Date: GoodDollar has distributed the equivalent of $450,000 in UBI to 519,774 unique claimers in over 181 countries

🗺️ The GoodDollar community has been buzzing with activity, from ReFi conferences to graduations, we love to see our community’s success.
🌱 GoodDollar Cameroon ReFi Conference
On May 13, GoodDollar Cameroon held a ReFi conference focused on eco-responsible entrepreneurship and regenerative finance to support local communities. Various speakers and leaders participated, sharing their ideas and insights.

🎓 GoodDollar in Education
Let’s go! We couldn’t be more proud of GoodDollar Philippines Ambassador, Bebet Lenteria, who graduated in the top 4 of their class. Bebet expressed appreciation for GoodDollar’s support towards their academic endeavor.
😂 GoodDollar Memes
GoodDollar Nigeria raised the community’s spirits with a lively Twitter meme contest. The goal was to create a meme emphasizing the expansion of GoodDollar and G$ UBI distribution on the Celo blockchain. What can we say, we’ve got some creative comedians in our GoodDollar community!
📚 Study TokenEngineering with the GoodDollar Community
TokenEngineering (TE) Fundamentals course is still live! Although sessions have already started, TE Fundamentals is hosted online so you can join and study at your own pace.
