We are excited to announce that GoodGhosting.com is live. This is the culmination of months of hard work, as part of Gitcoin KERNEL, and of course our finalist win at ETH London. We started with a vision to build an application that would make saving sexy, using the magic of DeFi and gamification. We are pleased to say this is now possible with the launch of our app. Join us to take part in our genesis savings pool, which launches soonâ„¢.
… wait, gamified savings how does that work?
The gameplay of GoodGhosting is super simple. Specify how long and how much you would like to save, and we will match you with others with similar goals. Multiple players will be added to the same savings pool. This pool will enable you to:
- Make fixed payments for its duration (e.g. save the same value weekly). Payments can be made in either Dai or USDC.
- Watch interest accrue in the savings pool.
- At the end of the game, the players that met all of their regular payments win.
- Everyone will get their principal amount back.
- However, only the regular savers, aka ‘the winners’, will get a slice of the interest generated — gaining them higher interest than if they saved solo 🔥.
If you are wondering about the name, it’s a GoodGhosting because the more users ghost, the better the returns for ‘the winners’ 👻.
In other words: Ghosting others means you lose the right to earn interest on your principal. Players who do not ghost, get the interest and earn a higher interest rate.
Instead of finding it a chore, GoodGhosting will make you want to save more!
