A QuickRound off of 2017

2017 was an interesting year for everyone, Goodlyffe included and 2018 is set to be even more so. Since our last blog post we have been busy with interviews, planning workshops, launching new initiatives and organising events! Here is a quick overview of what we’ve been up to.

In August 2017, we had finished the research and design phase of the Goodlyffe App and were entering the exciting build phase. Building of the app is still underway headed up by Joel Hooper.

We had also just launched the Building a Feminist Company: A Playbook for Everyone initiative and this was the topic of our first blog post. We received some amazing feedback off the back of that article which has helped to shape not only our ongoing research but the structure of the book and how we should find contributors.

Thank you to everyone who has been involved so far and the search for interviewees and contributors for the Playbook continues!

In January, we also launched a new initiative: Goodlyffe HumTech Enterprises and a blog post on that will be coming out in the next couple of weeks.

Goodlyffe HumTech Enterprises imagines a world in which technology can be efficiently, ethically and sustainably utilised to amplify worldwide humanitarian aid efforts and its mission to achieve this is through improving education to providers in both the humanitarian and technology sectors to help them work together in a better, more collaborative and less risky way for end-users.

We are also aiming to promote awareness of HumTech as an industry and have launched the International HumTech Meetup Group to that end.

The first Meetup will be on April 16th in London and online, you can sign up here:

Overall, it’s been a busy and exciting few months for the Goodlyffe crew!
