Goodnight Journal is a web and mobile app to write a journal, very simple right? But the main concept here is what’s a journal? A journal is a daily record of news and events of a personal nature; a diary according to Oxford Languages.

Since we were teenagers, most of us have a diary or maybe an agenda to write about our day, our feelings, our thoughts and why not things that anybody knew at this time. You protect that diary or agenda with your life because we feel insecure about exposing our feelings or our deepest thoughts with others.

Nowadays, that we’re more technological than ever, that concept of a diary moves to a digital journal, in our app note from the cellphone or maybe in a specific mobile app like Goodnight Journal. Also we’re more open to share our feelings and the way that we see the world with others.

I want to share with you a quote that I’ve seen so many times in different places: “Shared load is lighter to carry” so basically GNJ is like a diary where you can share with others your problems, the way you feel in a situation, a funny story, etc. You’re not alone in this trip we call life.

For that reason, I’m going to give you 5 easy steps to write a journal:

1) You must create an account in the app, you can find it in the App store from your smartphone or search on Google “Goodnight Journal”. We’re the first result;) Creating the account it’s the same as other mobile apps, very simple you could upload a picture of yours or if you don’t want to it’s not necessary.

2) Once you open your account you could see a phrase which says “Writing something today…” that’s the place when magic starts. You click there and it appears a canvas where you can write about anything, also you can change the font size and style, you could enter a link or share a picture.

3) The next step is that you can choose the date and the hour from publishing your journal. Also you could decide if you want to keep it private or share with others in the public option, it’s up to you. GNJ has different uses for his versatility to save the content that you write but that’s a topic from another post.

4) Once your journal it’s publish you can go back and see all the entries that you’ve been writing (I want to tell you a secret you can organize them from #HashTags and from Books) but I will explain to you later. When you have finished there you can go to the “Community Section” which it’s the first icon on your right where you can find the journals or entries (It’s the same) from other users, it’s not necessary that you follow them to see their journals.

5) Once you’re there you can read the journals, share a nice commentary or even a like. There’s a search bar where you can find a topic in specific and read about it. It’s very simple and I hope that this guide could help you to not wait and start writing your first journal or even the second.
