Expressing, managing, and regulating emotions and feelings is a delicate matter for most introverts. In this context, writing can be a great ally.

As an introvert, admitting your feelings to someone, whether positive or negative, can be incredibly difficult. However, everything is fine. Since everyone has their own comfort level when it comes to arguing, expressing emotions, then we cannot expect everyone to be either totally open or totally reluctant to express emotions.

For example, you may be dealing with an emotionally difficult situation, such as the loss of a relationship or stress at work, and not being able to talk about it may be significantly decreasing your sleep hours or undermining your ability to be productive.

If it’s too far out of your comfort zone to talk about how you feel, it is recommended that you write!

Why writing in the Goodnight Journal Works

Even though writing isn’t just for introverts, many introverts enjoy writing because it’s a solitary activity and allows them to immerse themselves in their inner world of thoughts, feelings, and ideas. Which makes using it as a way of expressing emotions to suit them perfectly. Allied to this, research in the context of psychology indicates that writing about traumatic, stressful, or emotional events results in improvements in both physical and psychological health.

TIP: Use Expressive Writing

Expressive writing comes from our core. It is personal and emotional writing, regardless of form or other writing conventions such as spelling, punctuation and verbal agreement. Expressive writing pays no attention to property: it simply expresses what’s on your mind and heart.

Expressive writing pays more attention to feelings than events, memories, objects, or people in the content of a narrative. Like narrative writing, expressive writing can have a story arc: beginning, middle, and end.
