First of all, yes GoodTask 4.0 sounds like a big number but GoodTask is going on a path of incremental improvements with frequent updates (as you’ve seen in the past). So there won’t be any separate releases or additional payments with versions going up. If you appreciate the development and want to support it, you can always support it on iOS version of the app. :)

Now on to the new features, GoodTask 4.0 adds List Memo for each lists. It’s fully optional so keep a note for only the ones that needs them at the moment.

You can put your goal or mission on it to keep it on your mind always.

On iOS, you can tap 3 dot more button on top right and choose ‘List Memo’ to add a new memo. After it’s added, you can tap the memo to edit them directly.

On macOS, you can right click list name on left pane to add. When it’s added, you can right click to edit the memo too.

Another big improvement on 4.0 is Sort Options. Just like previous versions, you can set it up for each separate lists or follow default option. Additionally now you can choose order for ‘Due date’, ‘Undated’, ‘Calendar Events’ which means that you can put ‘Undated’ tasks on top of everything or ‘Calendar Events’ on top of everything.

‘Calendar Events’ will be shown only when you have ‘Separate Calendar Events’ option turned on. If not, it’ll be mixed with tasks on time order.

When using ‘Priorities’ or ‘List Order’ option, you can also choose ‘Calendar Events’ to go on top or not.

On iOS version, settings page has been re-ordered to make more sense and ‘List Order’ option for single lists has been moved to ‘Settings — Lists & Calendars’. Drag and drop to move list order on lists will not change this ‘List Order’ option for single lists.

Share Extension has been added on macOS version and iOS version now adds default Due date and alert time when a task is made from Share Extension.

On macOS, subtasks are now shown directly on list like iOS version.

Intro page has been remade to give a brief introduction of the app too.

Hope you enjoy the update! Feel free to give feedback anytime ( Thanks!
