Amen Tyagi: Grit to Gold #CommunityChamp
Community success stories are often ridden with the growth of attendees through ranks. This is Amen’s story and then some more with a dash of aspirations.
It all started with a casual conversation with Rohan Arora, Organiser, GDG New Delhi and the instructor of an Android development course Amen was enrolled in. This self-taught designer seized his opportunity at its glimpse. Fast forward 15 months, he is now associated with 5 different communities that engage in areas of design, tech & business where he has reliably taken many roles.
Amen is a passionate product designer with 3 years worth of experience in the design industry. Although he is currently working part-time with a Not-for-Profit Organisation and pursuing MBA in IT & Marketing, he retraces from a field of objectivity and leaps into a creative world by building products out of ideas. Unbelievably, he is self-taught and also highly skilled in numerous design tools like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Sketch and the list goes on. His overwhelming skill-set includes user and product research, information architecture, contextual interview, user persona and user journey mapping, storyboarding, wire-framing, prototyping and user testing.
He has worked with people across various industries and ranks including CEOs/Founders, engineers, designers and sales teams to design a multitude of digital products like websites, apps and softwares. His experience and work position him greatly in a spectrum of creativity and design.
One many wonder as to how someone like Amen with design at his core gets involved with high-tech developer communities. The part about being self-taught and curiosity-driven is what piques his uniqueness. Amen’s path to making is nothing short of extraordinary, but that’s a whole other tale we’d save for some other day. The extra mile, the extra hour, the extra effort has shaped him into a conscientious and diligent individual.
Creative media for GDG New Delhi, WTM New Delhi and our community has had hefty contributions from him. Beyond his creative quirks, he has noteworthy leadership skills that have proven to be asset for the community. All this is attributed to his perseverance which makes his story about true grit than anything else.
