What Constitutes a Business Case?
The business case is a document that will help you to secure senior buy-in and funding. It describes how achieving these objectives will move you towards your strategic goals. And consequently, it should follow your strategy definition, not the other way around!
Here’s a quick summary of some the key information that should be captured in any business case:
- What are we going to do?
- What problems is it going to solve?
- How will it help us achieve our strategy?
- What is our expected return on investment (ROI)?
- What other benefits?
