My project for my wedding on September 22nd — Static website

1.Idea

  • I want to create a static website containing information about my wedding, so I can easily share it with friends and family instead of using traditional paper invitations.
  • This is my final project before saying goodbye to singlehood.
  • I’ll utilize the knowledge and skills I’ve acquired throughout my work, such as HTML and CSS, to build the static website. I’ll leverage Google Cloud, specifically Google Cloud Storage, for hosting to minimize costs. Additionally, I’ll use Cloudflare to set up HTTPS and Github for code storage and sharing. These technologies are quite familiar to most IT professionals, even from the early stages of their careers.

2.Overview Architecture

==============================================

Original source code I got from the internet:
https://htmlcodex.com/free-wedding-website-template/

I have watched the video and configured it successfully: https://youtu.be/cwlinqDqFng

Edited source code: https://github.com/huydanggdg/huyoanhwedding.com

3.Set up Google domain on Googler search console
To be able to name www.huyoanhwedding.com for the bucket on Google Cloud, you need to perform the following configuration on https://search.google.com/search-console:

4.Set up Google cloud storage

Open public for Google cloud storage

If you don’t care too much about loading speed, you can choose the following regions instead of choosing Singapore like me:

5.Cloudflare Setup
You can see the configurations I made below:

6.Results
Website: https://www.huyoanhwedding.com/
Domain name purchase cost $6/year
Google Cloud cost for GCS: 10,000 VND/month

Use google analytics to track visits:

Use video editing software like capcut, tiktok to create interesting videos:

In addition, there is an easier way to use github pages to create: https://huydanggdg.github.io/huyoanhwedding.com/
Another demo sample you can refer to (I got the source from a guy on J2team): https://huydanggdg.github.io/huydanggdg-huyoanhwedding.com2/
