In this post I’m going to share relevant details about the DSC Solutions Challenge 2020 https://goo.gle/solutionchallenge This is an annual competition hosted by Developer Student Clubs (DSC).

The contest seeks to invite students to develop solutions for local challenges that their communities are facing, using one o more Google technologies.

To the date their are more than 238 Leads have registered out of 2000+ total registrations.

đź’ˇSolutions Design:

#1 How to identify a problem: The first step is to have a clear and well defined problem, before start building your solution.

#2 How to identify a solution: Next step is to identify the best solution based on your user’s needs problem and also on your team resources and capabilities.

#3 Designing the interface: Now it’s time to design your solution’s interface and how a user will interact with the solution. This work is where the UI and UX design comes in.

#4 Designing the technology: Once you fully understand the problem and how a user will interact with your solution, we design the technology.

🏆 Evaluation Criteria:

Impact (50%)

  • Does the entry establish a clear challenge faced in the team’s local community and explained in a clear manner? (10%)
  • Is there evidence that the solution has been thoroughly tested with real users? (10%)
  • Is there evidence that the solution was iterated upon based on user feedback? (10%)
  • Is there evidence that your solution improve people’s lives? and Does the team display a plan for future extension if they were to continue? (10%)

Technology (40%)

  • Does the solution address the challenge identified by the team? (10%)
  • Does the solution makes an effective use of the features of the chosen Google technologies? (10%)
  • Does the video demo explains properly how the application works and how a user will interact with the solution? (10%)
  • Has the team clearly explained what Google technology they used, why and included guidance on how to run their code? (10%)

Scalability (10%)

  • Can the technology, in its current form or with minor structural changes, support more users, new regions, and increased scale often attributed with success and growth? (10%)

Please note: Each solution is evaluated on a scale of 1–100.

🏆 Prizes:

10 winning teams across the world will receive:
-Trip to Sunnyvale, California to demo their solutions to Googlers.
-Be featured on Google channels,
-A certificate from Developer Student Clubs noting your contributions and achievements.
