2017 Geo for Good User Summit Recap

This fall, we hosted the 2017 Geo for Good User Summit at the Google campus in Mountain View. The summit was a four-day hands-on technical workshop for nonprofits, researchers and public benefit organizations interested in using Google’s mapping tools to address the world’s most pressing social and environmental challenges.
Over 100 people from 28 countries gathered to learn from Googlers and each other about topics including mapping and storytelling with Google Earth; using Earth Engine in conservation, health, and forest applications; mobile data collection and analysis; managing GPS tracks and geo-tagged photos; and collecting your own Street View imagery. Along with the 38 breakout sessions focusing on Google’s geospatial tools, partners like the Jane Goodall Institute, Amazon Conservation Team and Nature Conservation Foundation shared how they use Google mapping tools to advance their missions.
