The Earth Engine User Summit is an annual three-day hands-on technical workshop for scientists, students, and developers interested in using Google Earth Engine along with other tools including Google Cloud Platform for planetary-scale geospatial analysis. This year’s summit will be held in the booming Silicon Docks (the Irish equivalent of Silicon Valley) at Google’s Dublin campus June 12–14, 2018. Applications are due here by March 10.

Earth Engine combines a multi-petabyte catalog of satellite imagery and geospatial datasets with a simple, yet powerful API backed by Google’s cloud, which scientists and researchers use to detect, measure, and predict changes to the Earth’s surface.

Last year’s summit was our biggest summit to date, with over 250 people from 40 countries gathering to learn about topics including using Earth Engine in conservation, health, and forest applications, mobile data collection and analysis, time series analysis, machine learning and using Google Cloud Platform with Earth Engine. In addition to the 45 technical breakout sessions, partners like MapBiomas, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, and the SERVIR-Mekong project shared how they use Earth Engine and other Google tools to advance their missions.
